The RevIt Discovery GTX is an adventure boot that can be used all year round Something that characterizes these boots are the materials they are made of such as Gore-Tex and Cordura The boot is available in two different colors black and brown The boot is ideal for the experienced adventure rider or the beginner rider who wants to upgrade their entry-level boots Materials The boot has a wide range of materials The first thing you notice about the boot is the name The abbreviation GTX stands for the first material used and that is Gore-Tex This is a waterproof membrane which in addition to being waterproof also offers good ventilation This ensures that the boot is suited for both winter and summer Several quality materials have been used in this model The outer side of the calf is protected by full grain leather This type of leather is known to be one of the strongest This has to do with the vertical fiber pattern A different type of leather is used on the inside of the calf up to and including the instep This time a form of suede leather which offers an advantage against heat and wear The mouth of the boot is encased in a material called Cordura A substance made of the nylon 66 fibre known for its ability to withstand heavy impact The mouth of the boot is not the only place where this material is incorporated Cordura is also used on the heel and around the BOA fit system of the RevIt Discovery GTX There is also a piece of 3M reflection material on the heel This is to ensure good visibility on the road For the foot section of the boot we notice that two types of materials have been used For the back around the heel again full grain leather has been used The front around the nose and down to the heel is made out of rubber The rubber has a special wear edge which ensures that the foot remains well protected Protection This boot features a number of materials that provide excellent protection The shin part is made out of full grain leather In combination with the suede leather on the inside an extremely good protection is created The inside of the boots includes Seesoft protection Despite the word soft in the name the material is very hard and protects the toes from any impact In addition the heel shin and nose of the boot are thermoformed This means that the boot keeps its shape well and always remains comfortable nbsp Comfort The most important point for comfort of this boot is the BOA Fit-system A system that makes lacing unnecessary The only thing you have to do is tighten the knob under the shin guard The harder you tighten the knob the tighter the boot fits And to loosen it just pull the dial outwards and the tension is instantly released It is a very user-friendly system that saves a lot of time Sole The RevIt Discovery GTX has a special Vibram Apex sole Characteristics of this sole are its toughness and among other things its multi-density EVA-layer This means that the sole can absorb various types of impact This results in an optimal protection for the foot but also in a pleasant comfort The foot bed also called the innersole is made by a third party Ortholite has developed an inner sole that is not only suitable for motorcycling but also for the moments when you are not on the bike The boot walks remarkably well because of this The use of these kinds of external materials does cost a bit more but you get perceptible quality in return
