The Klim Badlands Pro Jacket basically says it all in the name The motorcycle jacket is designed to take you through the toughest of terrains in any type of weather With its Gore-Tex Pro outer shell with additional reinforcement and CE Level 2 D3O protectors in the shoulder back and elbow the Badlands Pro Jacket can do just that So it could best be described as 3-season though some additional layers underneath may be needed The jacket itself will be competing with the Revit Dominator Gore-Tex and the Dainese Antartica Gore-Tex Jacket and pants sets Material The Klim Badlands Pro GTX Jackets main chassis is made of Gore-Tex 3-Layer Pro shell which is abrasion resistant and waterproof This also means the jacket is guaranteed to keep you dry and overcome the harshest elements It has clearly been designed for the toughest adventure riders Its mainly made of a tough outer layer then a gore-tex waterproof layer and a breathable backing for the interior However there is also additional Superfabric abrasion panels on the shoulders elbows and forearms for additional abrasion resistance And there is 500D Karbonite Ripstop in high wear areas around the seams For better visibility you also have 3M Scotchlite reflective panels along the front and back So youre getting the best materials possible that combine a high level of abrasion resistance with the best waterproofing Though one downside of the jacket is that unlike its competitors it doesnt come with any removable thermal liner or the option to remove the waterproofing Though with plenty of vents this should be less of a problem Safety Since this is an adventure jacket it will also definitely come with the protection that youll need In the elbow and shoulder there are limb specific Klim Aero Pro D3O armor that will offer you CE Level 2 D3O protection without losing out on ventilation The pockets for the armor have also been improved so the armor is adjustable and wont move around in an impact The Klim BadlandsPro jacket comes with the D3O Viper back protector and a silicon mesh chest protector The jacket itself is also prEN 17092-3 certified to Class AA and comes with a removable kidney belt as well Comfort The jacket comes with plenty of vents to help keep you cool when it does get hot out There are two stiff bicep vents on the front and back 2 vents in the triceps 2 in the chest and 2 more in the back The vents will also work with the Klimatek cooling stretch inserts and vented protectors to keep you cool on or off the road You also have these collar hooks thatll let you fold it back for extra air if you need The mesh used in these vents is also waterproof The Badlands Pro Jacket has 6 external pockets and plenty of places for adjustment So that means a stash pocket in the forearm 2 hand warmer pockets on either side 2 pockets in the chest and a large rabbit pouch pocket in the back The zippered pockets will also all be water resistant not waterproof as well For adjustment there are cinches in the forearms Velcro in the cuffs an adjustable hem and an adjustable collar as well The jacket does come with pre-curved sleeves for extra comfort and it may run larger than the size due to long sleeves The jacket is fastened with a waterproof reinforced zipper The collar has been improved to be less bulky and its lined with a more comfortable material than on the Klim Adventure Gore-Tex jacket There are 4 internal pockets including 2 stash pockets a chest mesh pocket and a hidden stash pocket behind the back pad One thing this jacket also offers that you rarely see is that it comes with a compartment for a hydration system with additional routing for the hose So you can more easily drink while on the go Summary When youre at such a high level with the Klim Badlands Pro you really are talking about the best of the best And its not hard to see why This jacket certainly goes the extra mile in offering protection and was developed to master continuous abuse from hardened world travelers If youre curious to learn more about the Badlands Pro jacket then dont forget to check out our YouTube channel with our Klim Badlands Pro Jacket Video Review nbsp
